BUT FIRST....two awesome things happened to me this week.
First, my Kindle 2 arrived yesterday! I am busy getting to know it, and I will begin writing about my experiences next week. But let's just say -- it looks like love!
Second, this afternoon I got the following e-mail from Terrell Harris Dougan, whose book That Went Well: Adventures in Caring for My Sister I just reviewed:
Jenners:How cool and amazing is that! What a lovely woman to take time to not only read my review but to send me this wonderful e-mail! Needless to say, Ms. Dougan made MY day! Although I already sent her an e-mail thanking her for her e-mail, I wanted to let you know what a wonderful and cool lady she is! Seriously -- read her book! If you want to enter my giveaway for my copy, just leave a comment telling me so after my review!
I just read your review of my book, THAT Went Well, and I am just thrilled. Thank you for the lovely description and for truly enjoying the book. You have just made my day.
Best, best wishes,
Terrell Harris Dougan
So now on to interesting links I found in the past week or so.
Favorite Opening Lines
I just discovered this wonderful blog called Padfoot and Prongs. The first post I read was about their 10 favorite opening lines of books. Needless to say, it was love at first read! Check out their choices and share you own by clicking here.
Stories of How Writers Get Started
Did you ever wonder how writers get started? Well, there is a whole blog dedicated to answering this question called 1st Books: Stories of How Writers Get Started. I found this fascinating and bookmarked it for further review. I found the link to this blog at She Reads and Reads's most recent Booking Through Thursday post.
What Kind of Reader Are You?
Want to take a fun quiz and find out what kind of reader you are? I was a Literate Good Citizen (description below). I found this quiz at Looming In Tucson -- the blog that belongs to my recent giveaway winner Michele!
| What Kind of Reader Are You? Your Result: Literate Good Citizen You read to inform or entertain yourself, but you're not nerdy about it. You've read most major classics (in school) and you have a favorite genre or two. | |

Congrats on the new Kindle. And what a great little email to receive. Congrats on that as well.
I must say, Ms. Jenners, I do love your blog. Thanks for the new blog to read, Padfoot and Prongs. I really don't have enough to do. Ha. HA! Well, if you keep writing, I will keep writing. Thanks.
I'm the same kind of reader! :) And, how cool that the author took the time to thank you for your review!
Book snob, baby!!!
Hmmm...I did not love Ms. Harris Dougan's book quite as much as you I guess. Maybe that is why I did not get a note...lol
