OK, well, of course I'm coming to this post next, after your review! As I said in my comments on your review of this book, I firmly believe in the human/animal bond. I had a cat, who I had before my husband even, and she was my best friend. She knew when I needed comfort, knew when to avoid me, and knew when I was in the mood to play with her. The day I had to put her down was one of the saddest days of my life. As I held her in my lap, and her eyes slowly closed, I just knew I'd never find another cat like her. I still wake up at night and imagine that I see her lying at the foot of my bed. I know, I'm mental. Please sign me up for this book, so I can have a good cry! rnawrot at cfl dot rr dot com

Boy, would I like to win your copy! We have a 14 year old Jack Russell Terrier and she communicates with us very well. She has a special bark she uses when she wants up on or down from furniture. The thing is, she can still jump, but she'd rather have us do her bidding.

I love animals with all of my heart and have excellent rapport with my of my doggies! They are both spoiled so much, they are my babies! Everywhere I go, they follow. They are my world and I could not imagine life without them. I am a bigtime sap, and tears are in my eyes now just thinking of living without either of them!!

I would love to win this! Please enter me into the giveaway, thanks!!!!!

I have two cats -- one is just an animal (sweet but dumb) and the other is ridiculously smart. He tries talking to us -- even imitating syllables of words that we pretend to try getting him to say. He understands sit and lay down and all sorts of commands. Animals are so diverse which is what makes them amazing.

I followed the research on Alex for years and would love to read this book.

I Had a great moment with our family dog we got three years ago. The summer after my freshman year of college, my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. She had to have a major surgery and the day of the operation, I was stuck at home (it was 16 hours and someone had to take care of the dog). Our Shih-Tzu was very hyperactive most of the time, and would nap away from us, but on that day, she could tell something was up and was with me all day. She would sit on my lap, follow me to my room, everything, just ot make sure I wasn't alone. She kept it up all week until my mom was home then she kept her company and watched out for her! (PS my mom has been in remission for over three years and is doing great!)

This book looks great - I would love to win it!

I absolutely love all animals and I honestly don't have a favorite kind.

I have real moments of communication with my two pups every day! My husband thinks I'm nuts when I tell my black and white cockapoo that she's my little newborn and rock her like a baby. She looks back at me so lovingly that sometimes I think she's human.

I read the book Wesley the Owl (everyone should read that if they love animals), and Alex and Me is on my tbr. I've tried a couple of times to win it on other blogs, so absolutely I'd like to enter this giveaway :)

I've never lived with animals, until about three months ago when I moved in with a roommate who has two cats. As such, I don't really have an animal communication moment. I can tell you that I've wanted a black lab dog ever since I met one day walking on my way to middle school. He was adorable and kept me company the whole way. It was only when I got to the school grounds that he turned back around and went back the way we'd come. Afterwards, I saw him a lot in a neighbor's yard but we never got to hang out again. I've wanted a dog ever since.

I would also love a copy of this book, so definitely count me in for the giveaway. =)

I have had Chihuahua's since I was a little girl, but one of the two we have now is very special. Dottie is 7 years old. We got her at 6 weeks while I was going through Chemo and she spent the first year of her life laying on my stomach. When she needs to go out, she finds a shoe and rolls it on the floor, if her water bowl is empty, she sits in front of me on her hind end until I go get her water, if she wants to play she goes and gets her toys and puts them in my lap. If I ignore her, she will go find every toy in the house and bring it to me until I pick one I like. I can tell her to go give Daddy a kiss and she will run to my husband and lick his face. I can ask her for a hug and she will put her paws on either side of my head and snuggle her head under my chin. If I am sick she will not leave my side. She is one special little lady.

And yes, I love reading books about animals since I love them all.

Golly, I have so many of those moments with my cat, Boots. For example, she acts a certain way when she hasn't been fed in the morning. I guess she acts disgusted with the world meaning my hubby and I.

She also says yes or no in a meow voice when I ask her a question. It's true. I can't wait to learn more about Alex.

I have heard such great things about this book.

One of my best communications with my dog was also a very sad one. My first husband was killed in a car accident about 4 years ago. Our Aussie was with him, but was in the bed of the pickup and thrown clear and was unhurt. Our friend found our Aussie running along the side of the road and brought him to me. He was very glad to see me, but he knew something was very wrong at the same time. He climbed up on the couch and just sat with me for days. If you know Aussies and their energy level, this kind of quiet time is unheard of.

Oh, I so miss my doggie Maggie, who died a few years ago. sadly, with my work schedule now, I can't really have a dog.
I have been considering a cat....but for me it is not really the same (waiting to be attached by all the cat loving bloggers now) :-)

I would love a change to win!

I can't think of a specific moment, but when I was living on a farm in the early 1980s, I could call my cat's name and he would come running even when he was a few acres away. I swear he had a special radar for my voice. He wouldn't do that for anyone else.

I love cats. Right now I have a kitty named Mindy. She loves to talk! We carry on conversations all the time! :)
I really enjoy this kind of book. I read the one about the library cat and a book about a very smart owl. I know I would enjoy this one, too.

I have done a lot of dog training with my dogs. I really feel the bond between us. One of my dogs, a 58 pound chocolate lab, loves to curl up in my lap (yes, IN my lap) when I read. She nuzzles her head as close to me as she can get and gives a huge sigh of contentment. That sigh and nuzzle speaks volumes! I believe she is saying, "Life is good and it doesn't get any better than this!" Of course, I feel the exact same way.

I would definitely like to be entered to win this books for several reasons: 1)I love memoirs, 2)I have always had cats in my life. My current cat Fiona talks to us all the time. We'll ask her something and she will wink or blink back at us. She also moves her mouth like she is really trying to speak to us.

Great review.

Thanks for the chance.

I would love to read this book. My favorite pet is the black lab. We had one for 16 years and she was a special member of the family. She seemed to understand...she got very excited every time we said the word "walk"!

I think my main communication with a dog was when I was very sick and couldn't get out of bed and my dog just lay beside me on the floor all day and would give me a little kiss from time to time to help me feel better.

I had special bond with my dog, Meshindi. He would come and sit with me when I was sick. I was in the hospital for 9 days and he never left me side while I recovered.

I love how the cats understand & know when I'm sick vs just crabby & bitchy. They will come lay with me & comfort me rather than step on me & bother me as usual. They don't expect me to get up & cater to them, they will just be there.

Thanks for the giveaway >^..^<
