A Thanksgiving Wish

For those of us here in the United States, tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day. I'm so thankful to have my mom visiting us this year. We are spending a quiet little Thanksgiving together with my son and husband. My mom has been visiting with us since early November. She was scheduled to come back and visit with us first and then her mother. But sadly, my grandmother took ill and passed away shortly after my mom arrived. I'm so thankful my mom made it back in time to see my grandmother before she died. If she had had another loss without any closure so soon after losing my dad , it would have been unbearable.

I've not been very present in blog land as I've been focusing on visiting with my mom and helping her through this really tough time. I have been finding bits and pieces of time here and there and visiting some of your blogs and leaving you bunches of comments all in a row. Consider that my holiday present to you! HAHA!

I'll be mostly absent from blogging until the first week of December, but I've been working on getting some of my reviews done for my own Take A Chance Challenge. How bad is it that I'm not even going to complete my own challenge? Oh well, sometimes life has a way of getting in the way of your plans.

Anyway, I just wanted to check in and let you know what's been happening over here and why I've been missing from your blogs. I had a few things that I'd written already but I'm terribly far behind in reviews and commenting. I'm not stressing about it though. One thing about losing your loved ones is that it puts your priorities in order.

Anyway, I just wanted to wish you all love and peace and joy and remind you to enjoy the upcoming craziness of the holidays and remember what is important in life -- your loved ones and a good book!

I can't believe it for your mom. She is so lucky to be able to come stay and be with you all; it would have been mighty hard without that.

I am thankful to have found you through our shared snack cake experience. I wish you and your family all the best and will wait eagerly for your return to the blogosphere!

Enjoy the rest of your mom's visit! My mom is here with us right now and we are having a fun time. I'm still blogging though because I'm just like that. ;) And because I have to post all of these Take a Chance posts before the end of the month!

Such lovely words there Jenners. Your mom is so lucky to have a daughter such as you.

As you know, Thanksgiving is not something we celebrate here in the UK (shame) but I shall be thinking of you all. Happy Holiday.

You're doing what you need to do. Your family is much more important than your blog. We'll be here when you get back. Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Sometimes life gets in the way of reading-it's not awful at all if you don't finish your own challenge. Spending time with your mom is more important!

Jenners, I'm so sorry to hear about your grandmother (and sorry I didn't comment sooner), but I'm glad to hear your mom got there in time. I hope you have a good visit together.

Hey, we ain't going anywhere (at least I don't think so...) and will all be here when you get back to blogging. In the meantime, I love the bunches of comments.

You've certainly had a lot of loss recently and it is great that you are getting the chance to spend this time with your mom. I hope you had a good Thanksgiving.

Hi Jenners --- I have been absent from the blogland lately myself and I am so sorry that I was not aware of the loss of your grandmother. Please accept my delayed condolences.

I hope you and your mom have had some healing time this Thanksgiving season.

Oh - and not to worry - I didn't finish my own reading challenge either :( You have a very good outlook - and your priorities in order. Good for you!
